AlKifah Paper Products (KPP) is one of the earliest industries in which AlKifah has been investing since the eighties. KPP factory emerged with various production lines for packaging and cartons manufacturing.
Today KPP includes a number of factories and printing providing over nine different production lines such as Folding Carton Box, Food Packaging, Paper Bags, Medical disposables, Solid Boards, Fiber Products, Office Products, and Modern Printing Press. Each production line includes a number of departments and equipments that produce thousands of customized designs.
From the beginning, KPP has always been environmentally friendly through manufacturing recyclable products and applying policies to reduce the waste. Accordingly, the company established a new department in this division, which is AlKifah Infection Control. It started almost two and a half years ago for the purpose of supplying and manufacturing a number of medical disposable products, as well as disinfection and sterilization machines for medical facilities.
“The spread of many diseases and various bacteria worldwide in the recent years has made infection control a major area of focus not only among the patients but also among the medical staff. Therefore, we provided the disposable or single-use paper products as well as a medical waste disposal machinery that uses the techniques of liquidizing”, stated Mr. Mark W Watts, Consultant of Strategic Business Development.
KPP is also an exclusive agent of the environmental cleaning device “Xenex Robot”, which is a Pulsed UV disinfection system used for medical centers to help in fighting infections and providing sterilized facilities.
Regarding AlKifah Infection Control Solutions, Mr. Watts stated: “We are not looking forward to being a medical equipment supplier, but we are looking to be specialized in infection control products. Currently, we are installing a new production line for single-use medical products, which is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year with a capacity of over 2000 tons per year”.
“AlKifah is also an exclusive dealer of Hygenex products that are highly effective in sterilization and killing all common superbugs and bacteria in five minutes. It has a wide range of products that are suitable for sanitation of wood, aluminum, floors, fibers, and other material. In addition, we invested in the latest state-of-the-art printing press as well as folding and gluing equipment in order to provide a high level of quality and meet the pharmaceutical packaging standards. Today, KPP is supplying the medicine packaging through cooperation with a number of pharma companies and drugstores”, he added.
Mr. Watt also discussed the five-year strategic plan of KPP working on the development of food packaging sector through providing certified and processed raw material that facilitates future investments in this field. Furthermore, the composite cans production line covers the salt industry, and it will expand into confectionery and powdered milk market.
“We are planning to expand geographically in the medical market and infection control devices, not only to GCC, but hopefully, to international markets. We are eager to start exporting after covering the local market’s requirements since infection control is considered a critical issue all over the world”, he added.
It is known that KPP does not mimic what is already there in the market because their current and future goal is to be an innovator in the packaging sector and a unique service provider.
